In 1989 Smit Houston was refitted with a helicopter deck and entered service for Greenpeace under the name Solo till 1995. In the year 2009 on the 7th of September the engine room of the Waker caught fire off the coast of Vlieland (NL). She was taken on tow to Den Helder (NL) and declared total loss.
